A Few Notes
The Moment Before Going Inside
There’s a small pause that happens before you enter the house at the end of the day.
The car is off but you haven’t reached for the door yet.
Sometimes you remember one more thing.
Sometimes you sit for a second because it’s the only quiet you’ve had since morning.
It’s a strange in-between, when the day isn’t over, but it isn’t asking anything either.
I’ve started treating that moment as a place to put thoughts down instead of carrying them inside.
The evening goes differently when you do.
Where Things Live
I used to keep certain thoughts in rotation so I wouldn’t lose them.
An email to send.
Something to pick up.
A decision still sitting there.
They’d come back while I was cooking or brushing my teeth, like my mind was keeping a tab open.
I started writing them down in the same place each time.
After that, they showed up less often.
The Same Pen
Most people don’t notice how often they look for a pen.
Drawers, bags, countertops, moving from room to room — small searches all day long.
I started keeping one in the same place every time.
Nothing dramatic changed, except the day felt smoother.
Small consistencies quietly give time back.

More soon, once the first pieces have had time to settle into daily life.
